Specifically DRAGONCHASERS OWNAGE

You have to admit, there's something off about an episode where Joffrey changes shirts on camera and Gendry's fully clothed the whole time.

Did we know there were giants? I will just keep drowning babies in front of their mothers until that guy pile-drives Jon Snow into the ground.

Catching up 3 weeks later, but for posterity's sake, I just have to add to this chorus. It took me entirely too long to realize that I could fast-forward through Mr. Hat explaining the set-up for this act's meta-narrative. The producers, the Later Ons, the recaps and repeated footage. So much hand-holding. It's not

Also The Shield: Catherine Dent beating up fools, Kurt Sutter as a terrifying Armenian Jesus, and Walton Goggins in a hilarious car chase.

Agreed! Most of The Twilight Zone, to name one that gets regular mentions round these parts, is a half-hour drama. Also westerns like Have Gun—Will Travel, The Rifleman, early Gunsmoke, Zane Grey's Theater, Wanted: Dead or Alive. Watched a half-hour Charles Bronson drama called Man With a Camera on Netflix the other

Anyone know if there are any good "rental" options for Route 66? It's been on my radar but I've never seen a full episode. Like so much cool stuff, it used to be on Netflix (I long for a day when that library can promise something like stability for something like a year; my queue is always littered with deadlines).

Also the Blake Edwards factor! For anyone interested, Peter Gunn is available on Hulu+ and looks beautiful.

I started last week in anticipation of these reviews. I have seen the Thanksgiving episode with the tofurkey thanks to a friend in college, but I never dove in until now. Seeing the love for it here and knowing how great Bunheads is convinced me.

Luckily a lot of current shows are on hiatus right now. I'm going through Farscape and Gilmore Girls for the first time (and rewatching The Shield), Farscape on the strength of the first review alone and GG out of Bunheads love. I'm really impressed so far and happy to have the motivation to dive in. I've never been

Thank you. The pilot is spectacular. I don't think the show got better. I think people learned how to watch it, got a handle on this unique show. At least, that's how it worked for me. Rewatching now, that first episode is just as great as the later ones.

I'd say both. And it's about all those things cabspaintedyellow said, but if a sorta logline helps, I'd say it's about a woman whose attempts to make the world a better place are undermined by her self-delusion. Something like that. Season 2 is a lot more focused, though, mostly tied to a story where Amy becomes a

What's this about 30 Rock's fifth season being bum? That year has so much course-correction (addressing Liz's sour attitude/self-image/sexual anxiety, getting away from romantic melodrama and back to media satire, bringing back writers) I honestly can't believe it's being tossed in the same boat as Nancy Donovan.

I liked the Probst-ness of that Eddie conversation, how much of that drool reveals his particular perception (as opposed to the visual record) of the cute jock. Eddie may be fit, but he hasn't distinguished himself in any physical challenge (has he?), and if he's charming, it hasn't been on-screen. While I think it's

Thanks! Just to add, Cougar Town is/was also ABC Studios, and Happy Endings is Sony. If I'm not mistaken, there are no commentaries on any of these DVDs (whereas the Must-See TV releases, e.g., each have multiple commentaries; HIMYM too).

Season three DVDs at last! I still don't understand how a network show with about 8 or 9 million viewers could conceivably wind up without a home video release  nowadays. The Middle DVDs are barebones, anyway. All the ABC comedies are, come to think of it, though I don't know if they're all produced by the same

"Caroline Decker, from Corpus Christi, Texas."

Great piece, Plutarch. Thanks for linking.

The last scene put me in mind of Mad Men's "The Other Woman." Spoilers: There's a whole lot more going on in both cases, but it's not every day someone makes partner and celebrates in a glass room as their taken-for-granted foil walks away. Only MM emphasizes the bright future. TGW, as per usual, stews in moral

If it helps, Hulu+ has season one of St. Elsewhere right now.
