Words That We Couldn't Say FTEW

Nu-cuh-lah waaaar…yeah…

The Music
Since it never comes up in the reviews anymore, I will start a general "The Music Of This Episode" thread.

I actually interpreted Jet's pursuit of Rhint as him fulfilling his duty to his new crew. Get the bounty, for the good of all those living on Bebop, and for that, become the Black Dog once again. But out of respect for Alisa, he dirties his hands and does it himself, rather than sending his crew.

Was always more partial to the The Egg and You.

I think it's odd that one would compare her to Wesley Crusher, because I'm trying to think of an episode where Edward goes all deus ex machina and just pulls the solution out of her ass at the last minute the way Wesley Crusher used to on TNG.

I think if you recognize Ed for what she is meant to be - a direct and complete contrast to the other members of the crew…it's quite easy to lean more towards comic relief rather than nuisance.

*remembers the blob episode, in which they diverted the blob into an apple orchard, where the massive amounts of seeds, each containing a miniscule amount of poison, offed the creature*

There really are only three Jet-centric episodes…which out of 26, isn't many. A few have a heavier sprinkling of him (Jupiter Jazz, for instance) but still tend to focus more on Spike or Faye.

Maybe wait a couple episodes. Toys in the Attic is really the first episode where the dub cast REALLY actually communicate with the same kind of nuance that the Japanese cast do.

I think CB is loaded to the gills with "fun filler," if you will. In retrospect, while it's easy to remember the heavier, more character-driven episodes, or even the darker hunts (Sympathy and Scratch, for instance), there's quite a few that are just a nice little action-romp with some decent laughs thrown in. Oh

@ Yoga Fire

OLF brings up an interesting point that I hadn't considered.

@ Ghost Chill

Was Wen clearly killing his pawns, or just letting them die? I certainly believe he injured them all in such a way as to rendered them mute and wheelchair-bound, but I don't know that we know for certain that he was killing the men.

I'm with Spicoli on this one.

Space Lion is really just Goodnight Julia with synthesizer/rhythm track instead of piano. Essentially the same tune, slightly different feel.

Posted from the lips of a ghost…to the shadow of a unicorn's dream…

Goodnight Julia is definitely a winner. Not one that plays in my car much, but a winner nonetheless. Julia + Road + Farewell Blues + Singing Sea + Kawaisouna Fei (both) + Adieu + Words + Wo Qui + Ave Maria + a double Scotch is a fantastic way to unwind after a shitty day at work. I've used that as an alternate
