But it wasn't just the intertitle and slot machine gags.

Awww.

It's pleasant rather than good.

Even in Foosball they had to artificially construct some Jeff-Shirley backstory to make the episode work. I think that episode is a bit of a clunker too.

And a couple of stray observations, because what the hell.

I think this was the most 'generic sitcommy' episode that Community has ever done.

From what I've gathered from NBC's promos, I'm pretty sure the twist is that anything Jeff wears on the show you can buy in stores the very next day.

Oooh, new Community promo!

I'm a big fan of the show but Hyden does share one of my concerns: that Community becomes so inward-looking and incestuous that it descends into fan service and alienates everyone else in the process.

I think people generally overestimate how much the show uses Britta as a punching bag because those moments tend to be funny and memorable.

That's the first Hulu video I've seen that actually works internationally! Yay for Gillian Jacobs. She also looks great in that video.

NBC really screwed up the launch of both Community and Parks and Recreation and deserve criticism for doing so.

I haven't seen Louie but I absolutely love The Armando Iannucci Shows. This comparison has pretty much convinced me to start watching Louie.

I assumed this went without saying, but now I've thought about it and I'm not sure whether I've ever seen someone mention it explicitly, and someone in the Jim Rash interview thread clearly hadn't noticed so what the hell…

You mean "Who Wants to Dance".

Personally, I like to think her thought process was "YOU DIDN'T LIKE MY BRIGHT SUMMERY PRE-OSCAR PARTY DRESS? WELL, FUCK YOU. I'LL DO THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE".

I get depressed when I think about how popular Mrs Brown's Boys is.

No.

I suspect that NBC are seeing how Community and, to a lesser extent, BFF and Bent do before announcing their renewals.
