I think you can completely skip his fiction altogether. I remember seeing an interview with him while he was promoting Downtown Owl and he basically said he only wrote a novel because he thought it would be easy (he found out it wasn't) and never read much fiction. That all shows in Downtown Owl.

I wonder if this guy appreciates stuff like Burning Love, or if to him that would come across as annoying/inaccurate in the same way that real forensic scientists probably hate CSI et al.

I'm not sure who Sean Pegg is, but I love this movie.
