Good overview…hope this movies pops up on TCM one day.  But one correction:  Written on the Wind was produced by Alfred Zugsmith, not Ross Hunter.  Also, one could argue that Sirk focuses on a man in Written on the Wind…Robert Stack's pathetic, self destructive drunk character.
