I think people liked "Listerine" because they like the part where he sings "MadMooartigan" or "Bamboo Warrior" or whatever stupid thing it was.

I recently tried to listen to Live again via my ancient cds that have been buried in a box and stuffed in a closet. I thought, "It's been long enough. Maybe I can just enjoy this for what it was, popish 90s radio rock with some catchy sing along choruses. Kind of like the Foo Fighters."
@PaulKinsey:disqus no I agree, but at this point they've thankfully drifted from their initial grunge sound that they're not a Nirvana clone anymore. I just meant that back when they were on their first two albums, they were the only ones who did it well.
Oh stop, it wasn't that bad. I was 16 then too, I remember. Not every one had the option to be a elitist music snob, particularly back then.
Oh everyone was biting Nirvana back then. But really the only good Nirvana band was Local H.
@avclub-b7ee6f5f9aa5cd17ca1aea43ce848496:disqus yeah I feel like most people's hatred for Sublime now has everything to do with their hatred for the college frat guy fans they had back in the 90s and nothing to do with their actual music.
@avclub-9a4ac317cb97a077c26c66efb5eac98e:disqus that was really informative. Totally explains why I remember my city finally getting an alternative station around the end of 1995 and it actually being pretty awesome for awhile. Then around 1998 or 99, more obscure bands (for radio at that time) like Sonic Youth,…
At this point I hope Detox never gets made. I'm so sick of hearing that title now he should at least change it to something else because that name is now tainted.
Agreed. Also there was that vision Locke had of him being pushed through the airport on a wheelchair by Boone. That was pretty good.
I always found this particular dream sequence to be extremely unsettling and could never figure out why. There was just something about David as a pothead surfer being the "real one" and of course Nate swimming off into the ocean/void that makes it really uncomfortable for me to watch. The scene was written, filmed…
It's actually quite impossible to scream "Indie" in an un-obnoxious way.
Really the best part about it were the sets. It was filmed on the same Hawaiian island as Lost and if they're smart they would use that location again for JP4. Maybe even use the same premise. And actors.
Seeing Monotonix coherently play an actual song of theirs.
I heard about this. Someone at this show told me he was angrily and aggressively banging the tambourine and that it was basically the most ridiculous thing she's seen.
@avclub-d568f77a3275c114d8ad3a3082a0e172:disqus unless its Crunk of course.
BUT WHAT ABOUT CDS?
Oh he's a character, and it looks like in this season he's going to make two slaves fight to the death.
"Good Don goes to work to deliver the pitch. Dark Don seduces a women with a stop sign for a head. He's a walking dead man if he can't stop from breaking his bad habits and soon he's gonna be on his way to hell on wheels. AMC!"
YES
@avclub-6c6094f256f51e83fe02bce6091163e7:disqus Obviously you hear the word douche a lot.
