Who thinks Tommy Gets His Tonsils Out is filler? That song is great. Gary's Got a Boner however is just over the top stupid. Perfectly Lethal should have taken its place.

@avclub-fb3deea8bff8902a6a092a4b532b4a68:disqus as much as I respect and enjoy reading The AV Clubs opinion on all things media, I've always felt they were too lenient on latter era Simpsons. I would still like to see this list though.

@avclub-e84c4b4fa6a25b8639bbb4dff041f69b:disqus I've always thought someone should compile a list of actual good latter era Simpsons episodes and I think you just might be the man for the job.

Ohhhhh, 'Bart to the Future' I forgot about that turd. Yeah that stands out as a bailout episode because it really put the show's current state into perspective when compared with the similar and infinitely superior "Lisa's Wedding" episode from the glory years.

The 'Bart befriends an old cowboy' episode did it for me. The one where it starts off wackily with a dog who wants to kill Bart. I think it was the first Simpsons episode where I didn't laugh once.

He's my age. Which means he's like a borderline gen-x hipster with a never ending fondness for the 90s.
