What's interesting about that particular season you're talking about, season 4, is it could potentially serve as the best starting point for a newcomer. I know I know, you should just start at the beginning, but several people I've talked to about the show say they did that and got bored with how slow season 1 moved.

Alternatively, I think the reason some people get it mixed up is how the apostrophe rule changes when used next to a proper noun. Fer ex zampel, "Tom's car" doesn't (does not) translate to "Tom is car". Hence some of the confusion.
