I hate to disagree… That's a lie, I love being a disagreeable douche.

Touche. Tou-freaking-che.

On the subject of happy deaths:

I agree. He likes 3 episodes of one show as much as 3 episodes of another show! What a cock-bastard!

Based on the trailer, this looks terrible.

So you were having stress-hallucinations way before it was cool?

No.

Aw, the terrible post-Super Bowl episode. Easily the worst episode of the show in the spot when it would receive the most exposure.

Glee: TV for masochists!

I don't know about that. These are some of my favorite recaps on the AV club. No, they don't extensively delve into the philosophical ramifications of an Appa-less world or anything like that, but they're tightly written, funny, and open up a discussion. And that's all I really need.

The next two descended into the grim-seriousness that works in terms of a larger arc, but doesn't really help individual episodes stand out.

I actually disagree with that first impression of his character. He was introduced as someone intensely upbeat and focused on being liked, but not necessarily the most trustworthy or straightforward guy. I think we were supposed to infer that he knew what was going to be done (gutting the local government), but chose

You beautiful bastard…

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the other stumbling block was the casting. The only female part we had cast was for Mrs. Norris the cat.
