Metal Gear Solid 2 definately defied expectation, heck, people still bitch about it, completely dismissing characters (you know who) and plot elements just to get their hero back. The game sold anyway.

Only read an excerpt from Best American Comics… but from what I've seen it's a pretty quaint fictional account of TV personality…. and it's a lot more thought provoking than it sounds. Sort of like an existentialist Citizen Kane.
