The Truman Show, among others
I know I have some other, perhaps better examples, but I always refer to The Truman Show when I think of films that made me swell up. I was practically alone in the theater too, which could have contributed…
I recall The Fox and The Hound being pretty effective, even more than the later, more acclaimed films.
I'd love to see more of his work
I've seen a couple of his ad work, he's done some really awesome stuff that matches the craze of this film. (Look for the one about the 'Today' people') He was supposed to do The Tale of Despereaux, which I was totally anticipating until the moment I saw the trailer in the theater,…
Haha, I have to agree. After the Castle blows up in Castle in The Sky, the characters just say "GOODBYE!", and then they fly away. What?
Apperantly Disney's going to give Ponyo a promotional profile to match their own work when it's released later this year. It's got a huge voice cast. They really want to elevate Miyazaki's work up and above the "niche" factor. I'm sure the kids will end up liking it, but I wonder if the parents will take them to go…
Here's my list. I love talking about their work:
Meant to say, "who actually thinks these CD's are worth buying?"
Ultimately Oldham has a point.
Of course I wouldn't dismiss the practice of licensing songs for use in movies, but the evidence is rediculously stacked in his favor. You go to any place that sells records and they're polluted with tons of unmemorable "Pop music in the film", or even worse "Pop music inspired by the…
I saw The Last Temptation of and Labyrinth in the theater in two consecuative visits to the theater recently, and the audience was all for the Bowie. One for his epical role and the other for the epical you-know-what. Great performances both.
Clearly Billy Bob is not a Bargainville fan.
I believe that, but what I'm wondering is if they were looking for the right vehicle (not exactly Rock Band, per se) to get everyone, especially the kids, attention as to inspire another Beatlemania.
About the Let It Be film…. surely that'll come out of this, no? That thing has had more setbacks than Terry Gilliam's films combined.
So this is what they're waiting for..
Throughout the years I wondered what would be enough incentive to bring remastered Beatles CD's. Surely I thought, it would've been during The Beatles Anthology/Free As A Bird/Whatever else stuff that happened during the mid 90's. Still think that was a missed opportunity. Then I…
One of the great credible moments in wrestling
One to rival that one time Robocop stepped in to free Sting from the steel cage.
I know there's one for the PC. Can't say anything about 360. Baaah.
Tuna Sandwich
I'd shell out dough for this blatant retread only if they include fight scenes insinuated by tuna sandwiches. (like the first film.)
The Devils!
Unleash it from it's archive hell, pretty please?
The Immortal Question (as asked by the somewhat nifty Bongo)
If E.T. and The Smurfs had a war, who would win?
I dunno. Probably not. Was it his call to get this film released? All potential snark aside, I find that hard to believe. Probably has more to do with the conflicting versions of the film and/or that the studio is probably just sitting on it.
Other lost Lucas production
Well, if the DVD era were to be considered end by some measurable degree, I guess it would have to be Howard The Duck. But there's another long lost Lucas production, Twice Upon a Time, that begs the DVD treatment… though I think this film's controversy is more detrimental to it's release…
