I've seen all thirteen episodes of Rev.  broadcast in the U.K.  After seeing the first episode again, I'm struck by how the story starts out right where it wants to and knows exactly what it wants to do and stays true to the tone and balance between the comedy and the drama and Adam's crises.  His relationship to God,

Getting On is wonderful.  It's kind of like The Thick of It.  What TTOI is to politics, Getting on is to the NHS.  The series is put together by Jo Brand, Joanna Scanlan (also in TTOI), and Vicki Pepperdine, who play respectively a nurse, a nun, and a doctor on the midnight shift of a hospital, and it is shot,

While the whole Joan escapade was morally destitute, not one of the partners questioned Joan's capacity to be a partner, nor did anyone say that she didn't deserve it.  In other words, (so far) it seems she earned her partnership in ways other than bedding the Jaguar rep.
