Isn't that kind of the point, though? He'd just be a horrible selfish person if he wasn't so awkward. And everyone around him is just as horrible and selfish (if not more so), so he only has the audience's sympathies by default.

Musicals, I can generally do without.

I don't think I've heard any of these songs. With the possible exception of the one about poking faces.

To be fair, this review was pretty funny. It doesn't even spend much time ripping on the film itself - just acknowledges that it's ridiculous, and makes with the jokes.
