@avclub-cbaedc3b4d03e0c060ccbb852433a819:disqus : I remember liking Millar's first couple storylines on The Authority, but they just didn't hold a candle to Warren Ellis's.

@avclub-40f4775d64533ee66e3e20ae64228661:disqus I can only see that happening if it ends up not being on The CW but on some network like AMC or FX. I don't see The CW being forward thinking enough to do Gotham Central properly.
@avclub-5bc6960dad8ab0694bb4d6ff884b0c1e:disqus AMC is already working on a TV series based on The Terror.
Many machines on Ix. New machines.
Who's playing the character shown in the image above? It sure looks like the artist modeled him after Jason Isaacs.
And it was also back when Laura San Giacomo was still smokin' hot. So yeah, that plus what Nuke said. Pretty solid.
@avclub-8288999e960ebe6aca280a2c31f5645b:disqus Huh. I hadn't really listened to the Snot version before, but I have to agree that it's better than the Sevendust recording. It's has more rough edges to it.
Love that song, but I've always found it kind of strange that such a moving piece of music was written about a guy from a band called Snot.
I was thinking Alec Baldwin should be careful what he writes about George Stark lest he get sliced up with a straight razor.
The first words out of my mouth when the credits started rolling on Hatchet was, "Well, that was a waste of my fuckin' time." I guess it's fine if all you're in for is the gore, but otherwise it's fairly awful.
And Death Magnetic is actually pretty damn good!
I do agree with what you're saying here, but The Devil You Know sounded like a bunch of guys who just wanted to make some kickass music and ended up proving that elderly dudes can put some of the young guys to shame. What I've heard from 13 so far sounds like an uninspired cash grab.

Also, The Way of Kings is completely awesome! I just read it not too long ago, and I was hugely impressed with his world-building and character development. While not every character is fully fleshed out and three-dimensional, the heroes all have flaws and the villains have their positive traits. (I have yet to read…
I was actually surprised to find that, at least in the two books of his I've read (Warbreaker and The Way of Kings) his characters don't really feel like overly preachy, moral types one might expect from a Mormon writer. In fact, in Warbreaker, the overly devout religious character continuously has her notions of how…
One of the trailers reveals that there is actually a tsunami in the movie.
Opus Eponymous is pretty fantastic too. I'm so bummed that I only discovered them a week after they played a small venue gig near where I live. :(
I'm not about to argue that it isn't goofy as fuck,—and I love it in all its goofy glory—but I think they're heavy enough to be considered metal. I think that's especially true if you look at the type of metal they're emulating, which is that '70s/early '80s period, when Alice Cooper and Ozzy Osbourne were considered…
Give this a listen.
