I've actually really been enjoying Nightwing, although to be honest, I was never all that interested in the character before his brief stint as Batman.

I wouldn't put it past this version of Batman to have made it clear to the general that he felt it to be the best option for him, but I don't think he would have gone so far

Didn't really care for Dushku's voice as Catwoman, probably because anytime I read Year One, I can only imagine her sounding like Body Heat-era Kathleen Turner.

@joaquinstick:disqus The fact that he passes up options that disarm with minimal contact in favor of one that "hurts" is my favorite part of the whole thing.

Okay, while I did actually ask Miller in person for clarification about whether or not Batman shot and killed the mutant (which he confirmed), I'm going to call bullshit on the second one. I see nothing that indicates that Batman killed the general himself.

They all suck compared to "America We Stand As One."

@avclub-2b1488ea4f41f775d267fd910480d14a:disqus I'd theorized that Vertical Horizon was a not-so-stealth Christian band because the chorus to "Everything You Want" sounds so much like it's talking about God or Jesus. Plus the name Vertical Horizon brings to mind a cross. Turns out I was incorrect, though.

This also has one of the most effective "Holy shit! Someone just got shot!" moments of any film ever. I'm referring to the scene where Fantasia shoots the cop. There's just something about that super-wide shot that ironically makes it far more visceral than a closer angle would have been.
