Agreed. I chuckled throughout the whole thing and, several times, laughed loudly on the street!

I didn't really like how it was written, found it a bit stilted and forced. Most of all, I think it's a film that lacks charm.
Pulling is on a whole other level of good, and it's much darker than this show. Darkness with a light touch but darkness nonetheless.
Father Ted is also pretty much a documentary about Ireland. You wouldn't believe how close to the bone it goes.

Oh yes, absolutely an unoriginal connection, which I wouldn't mind at all if it weren't so lazy and underdeveloped (like a lot of this film). Hence my hoping no. It was never going to be deep, but it could've been something, instead of a bummish idea, which is what it is, let's face it :-)

Was the casual mention that the romanstatue aliens were killed just as they were coming to finish off life on Earth around two thousand years ago meant to signal that it was going to be our punishment for offing Jesus Christ? I hope the answer is no.

I wish Prometheus was as good as Michael Fassbender is in Prometheus. Instead of an ok film with goodish bits, it'd be an excellent film with magnificent bits.

I agree. The dialogue is terrible, sometimes embarrassingly so, and the storyline is patchy. It looks great, sure, but Alien was so much more than that.

Agreed. I struggled to finish it.
I used to be one of his biggest fans, was quite excited by all the "return to form" talk about Last Night in Twisted River, ultimately was bitterly disappointed. It's like all the talk that ridiculously greets every new Woody Allen film; go back to the old stuff.
I concur. It's no Were Rabbit but there's lots to enjoy in this. I began to feel vaguely homicidal towards the kids who were talking up the front.
Alec Baldwin does a nice line in voiceovers
Me too! That Grand Canyon scene was such an emotional pay-off.
Cillian Murphy definitely doesn't pronounce his name "Sileean" (who does??). A friend of mine was in UCC with him.
In my interview for the big corporate firm I currently work for, I told them I was a member of a burger club, "which is about, basically, the love of burgers". Turns out one of the interviewing partners is obsessed with burgers. Sad ending though; I hate my job and the staff canteen always incinerates the burgers.
