boopy doopy boop doop comment.

Yep, I'm hoping PoI will let me have at least fifteen seconds of enjoying the eventual destruction of the naive little zealot before making me regret it with emotions.
Edit: Maybe twenty. "No one at my work seems to care that they shot me this evening. I'll go and ask my boss and he'll tell me the truth." Christ, get

I was going to give Greer's character some shit for unwarranted condescension. Listen, if your defining characteristic is your total belief in and unquestioning obedience to your machine overlord, perhaps be a little less patronising to the 19 year old for displaying the exact same reaction to the exact same thing.

Direct competition, no, you're right there, but indirectly Last Week Tonight is stealing quite a bit of the Daily Show's thunder. How many 'this was on the daily show last night' segments do you see around the internet compared to a couple of years ago? But pretty much every Monday - there's John Oliver's main bit

When the time comes, they'll need a pretty sharp degree of reboot won't they?

+1 for the universe crushing level of sass Rusty dropped on the Doctor at the end.

I'm not normally a book stickler, but that line was the crappy glace cherry on top of this disappointing cupcake of a scene for me.

Little bits I liked:

Cersei's reaction a little harsh? More utterly fucking unreasonable and self centered. Also, character perfect. Cersei's always been a bit more sympathetic in the show than the books, it looks like they're getting ready for her dive into really crazy bitch territory. I also love the fact that Jaime is the first one

Shit. Shit. Shit.
I was looking forward to doing this every week. I had, in fact, just announced to my local Red Temple that R'hollor had given me a vision in the nightfire that I must test my faith by staying up to see just how dark and full of terrors Sunday nights 2-3am could be, for ten weeks. I pointed out that

I think Daario has levelled up in looks and personality. Last season I felt like the character relied on an underlying level of pretty and/or charming that I just couldn't see being demonstrated.

Present.

Oh, fuck Sky. They get good shows but this year have started wide scale PBS'ing for unfathomable reasons. The UK is nearly two months behind on True Detective and Elementary, and we don't even have an air date for Hannibal yet. My hard drive is screaming for mercy, despite the fact that I'm already paying for these

For the full effect, synchronize chant with banging a knife and fork on a table, either side of a rare steak. Steak should only begin to be eaten after opening credits have finished, bonus points for getting to mouthful five, full psychometric testing is for finishers.

Oh, they don't even have the printing press. For a 5,000 to 8,000 year old civilisation their technology is really weedy. I mean, what have they got? Some very basic engineering, pretty good wound care (and you can see why that got developed) and green napalm is their cutting edge. I suppose periodic interludes where

Wow. Is it how he's stood, or does Capaldi have distractingly large feet? Because they appear to be the same length as his shins.

Absolutely. I started watching Elementary because of the reviews that kept saying, no, you really should try this, it's good. Liked the storylines, started to get invested in the new 'brilliant but more human' Holmes, but was completely blindsided when the re jiggering of Watson's character somehow made her one of the

It is interesting to be comparing two shows, one with the shortest of short BBC runs, and one with the longest of long form US formats. Particularly now many US networks have adopted shorter formats for many shows in an effort to build quality. And yes, for its first two seasons leaving the audience wanting more was

We in the UK just got Sherlock episode 2. Massively reduced (or at least reasonably concealed) fanwank, not a deep mystery, but more fun than I've had since season 1 ended. Characters felt like themselves, tripped along with a good pace, and the Sherlock/Watson stag night was a joy to behold.
Anyone care to tell me

In the UK, I too have noticed that ads are now competing for visual attention (or at least more likely to give a WTF? moment) and that the brand names are much more in the foreground. We also get ads that masquerade as news reports and other programming (they used to need to have a 'This is an Advertisement' warning,
