Anthony LaPaglia was considered for the role of "Tommy" Soprano before they found Gandolfini.

I like the "Johnny" part, but I think even you know the Godfather bit is a stretch.

Same, to an extent. I kind of like reading the plot rather than watching it. But it still makes me chuckle a bit.

I recently rewatched this episode, and though I used to think he was definitely thinking of Adrianna, I'm not so sure anymore. His storyline in that episode is all about Tony B. I now wonder if the trees remind him of the house in Kinderhook. It could be a little of both, though.

What about "Pine Barrens?" Or the Vegas trip in "Kennedy and Heidi?" Or Carmella's trip to Paris in "Cold Stones?" Or "Soprano Home Movies?"

Do they show up all that often though? It didn't seem like overkill to me. Plus, they play a huge role in AJ's storyline and where he ends up.

It's hard to cut out the mob kids, though, because it sets up that one will eventually get arrested, leading to Carlo becoming a state's witness.
