It's a real joy getting to where you consistently gain rather than lose resources in zone 1. It's honestly almost more satisfying than when you start occasionally winning.

I can imagine someone liking it even as an adult if it's the first metroidvania they play. It's not one of the better entries in the genre, but the bare elements of what's good about that genre make up for a lot.

I found it really helped me to play through a zone with bard before trying it as intended with melody or cadence (i forget which is which). It was just too much for me trying to learn the enemy and weapon behavior initially while keeping to the rhythm, and i was really glad it lets you break those down.
