I suspect the hypernationalism and attendant bigotry against foreigners is relatively sincere. I don't think he necessarily hates people just for being Latino or Chinese or other ethnic groups (I would not rule out him actually hating people for being Muslims though) but his message of taking a very strong adversarial

I do want opposing people to have a voice, and think things get really desperate and broken if the same group consistently loses out every time (even if it's in consistently fair contests rather than the way black people kept losing out constantly in a rigged system). But they've still got the house and their two

I wonder if it means something to do with 30. If so, his not making it there is some downright Greek tragedy shit :(

I can't find the exact quote, but there's a great bit of Sicario where they pass some mutilated bodies hung up for display and i think it's Brolin's character who says "It's real smart what they do. People see them like this and think they must have something to deserve it."

Well guns are a bit harder to generate than alcohol, marijuana, and meth at least, but i agree a big part of this is convincing people they don't want guns rather than just telling them they can't have them.

It's fair to not hold that credit against him, but it sure doesn't count for him, and in terms of features, neither does anything else he's credited on. The most positive interpretation is that he's the same as a totally untested writer, and it goes down from there.

Big Butt Book frets about the possibility of being rule-of-three'd

I am not invested in the Sandman adaptation specifically, but often times i'm interested in a different take on something good, even if it doesn't wind up being something i would take over the original. And with text-only books, i'm often interested in the visuals an adaptation brings.

I think the director's still a worse sign. Even with the worst screenwriter in the world attached, you could still console yourself with how common extensive script doctoring and rewrites are.

Adding to what @ErisOnWheels:disqus says, early on (the web short it's based on through a few early episodes) it is based partly on a parody of how inappropriate Doc and Marty's relationship is. So it keeps shoehorning things in that are like a Three's Company style gag where it looks like Rick might be doing all this

Part of its status as a comic book parody (yes it's also got a lot of johnny quest and other stuff in there but there's a lot of comic book too) is that it has a truly ridiculous world and continuity that it starts building early on.

Literally or metaphorically? Because i think opposite candidates win those two interpretations.

Everybody is the ones always pushing for more war. The democrats push for somewhat less of it than the republicans but i don't think i've seen a non-hawk president in my lifetime. What was Carter like, was he the last one?

Nominating someone other than Trump if he has the most delegates seems like a huge mistake. For one thing, Ted Cruz is not exactly a great general election candidate even in a two-person race. But more importantly, part of Trump support is built on a disaffection with the two party system/their supposed own party. The

I have a real hard time believing this thing works in syndication. I have had the experience of seeing an episode after missing a season or two, and it was just utter nonsense. Way moreso than even something else supernatural like Buffy…or Supernatural, because the status quo changes so heavily here from season to

Your instinct is almost certainly sound. A lot of people like it, but it hinges almost entirely on what you think of Kevin Spacey as an over-the-top evil ham. Since you specifically mentioned that as a turn-off, there's almost no way it will end up being for you.

It's about Frank 'Black' Blackington, and how he lost all his memories after having an affair with the president, and is now indebted to the FBI who supplied him with an experimental drug to return him to normal mental function so he can track down the devil who has gone missing from the LAPD.

I can't wash dishes and only eat one meal per month, so this math checks out.

It was my least favorite of the three so far this season, but that's not saying a ton. I liked the dog hoodie, the musica fantasy celebration of Ilana's firing, and the end of Abbi's plot, but not much else.
