I love that they laid out a pretty straightforward episode premise and then just immediately went "no, that's stupid" and never brought it up again.

I have to assume their creators are looooooooooooooong dead.

It's a weird dynamic. Free supplicants still gotta take shit from royalty's slaves to get heard.

A bit overstated, and possibly just a statistic fluke, but still, maybe we shouldn't get too judgmental about that system given our track record http://www.omgfacts.com/new…

The first sign this conversation is going to go really badly. Peridot has started to think of herself as the individual Steven sees her as, and is snapped back to the reality that YD sees her as an assembly line product.

Also, even for immortals, the rebellion being 6k years ago makes holding a grudge that long pretty insane.

I was thinking more intense close-up anime reaction shots. Like, you can take about half the stills of Yellow Diamond and caption them "WHAT?! IMPOSSIBLE!" and have it fit.

He's a stealth Black Bolt reboot.

It's tough to keep believing in a crusade after you meet the pope on an off day.

By living home decor, i always imagined them essentially being Geishas or court servants of some sort. Responsible both for looking nice and making sure everything goes smoothly and utter decorum is maintained. Serving as a sort of buffer between yourself and unpleasantness, mundanity, and effort on every level.

I don't think she's the incompetent machiavellian climber Starscream was. I think she's a naive true believer who is devastated by the impurity and imperfection of her more nuanced, self-interested, petty leader.

Did you purposely pick the writers' absolute worst credits, or are those actually representative?

I thought the pattern was kind of lousy but it made her ass look great.

I thought they were both fun, good films within the genre, but it's weird hearing them called deconstructions. Maybe i just don't know what that word means, but they seem to both follow the established pattern more than they comment on it. I mean, "Can this man and woman just be friends? (no of course not)" is the

I personally thought the ending was so absurd i just took it as metaphorical. Up to that last second the whole thing is about this guy is obviously nuts, but is sort of a love letter to him regardless. It's about what a great time she has not being detached and dismissive of him just because he's weird etc. It kind of

So Adam Scott is def getting best supporting actor for this is what you're saying?

Yeah i felt really shitty for Amanda Peet, and kind of baffled by Sudeilkis that he wasn't fighting to keep the relationship he was actually in at all. I mean, even taking into account this epiphany that he loves someone else more, it seemed psychotic to give up completely on her, a woman he had been dating for months

I thought Trainwreck was hilarious but didn't give a shit about the romance. SWOP really more all around well put together. I am counting that as a strong win for Trainwreck fwiw.

SWOP is not making my year-end best list, but it is a lot more stylish than rom coms usually are at least? I believe something in the genre could deserve awards, but this just isn't it for me.

The best way i can describe it "second-rate." It was in a genre i think of myself as sort of a sucker for with some people i like, and just felt like a pale imitation of itself at all turns.
