@avclub-40e90db13ab31c7efd64228034182c2e:disqus Because once the Doctor's talked to that nurse, it's already 'established' that he hadn't in fact called or dropped in. It'd be screwing with his own timeline. Same reason why he didn't just go back to pick up Madame de Pompadour after he got the news of her death.

I watched for the thing with Kate's voice as well to see if they'd catch it, but she has like a line and a half of dialogue while she's in there and she pretty much whispers it.

Honestly, I thought it was a little suspicious at the time. That combined with how quickly he tried to make Castle the bad guy amongst the other hostages as a distraction just felt like overplaying it.

That was my one real beef with it as well. Apparently pointless explosives + off-screen death usually means "covering our tracks while we sneak away." I think it might've been better if we'd seen a flashback at least of the bombs going off early as the cops were spinning the scenario.

In other words, we can probably assume he's lost interest in the Dr. Horrible sequel.

More or less my experience
I pretty much agree with everything here, although I'd argue that the Dursleys outlived their narrative usefulness in the books pretty quickly as well. Also, I feel Jason Isaacs deserves a mention in the bit about the casting.

She specifically told the Eleventh Doctor he was busy the day she learned how to fly the TARDIS. I always figured she was taught by another Doctor. I mean, she's not going to tell him flat-out that a future him is the one who gives her driving lessons. Spoilers.

Fuck Curb your Enthusiasm
Seriously.

Two birds, one stone
I think he's cashing in but also intentionally killing the original meme once and for all.

"don't want people to defend me"
In other words, he's apologizing because Gilbert Gottfried's been very publicly on his side and he's embarrassed by that.

Rory's comment about multiple Doctors
I always figured that was Rory subtly testing where River was in his own timeline. He mentioned the subject to see if 'this' River was aware of the incident with the 'spaceman' at the beginning of Impossible Astronaut.

This is news?
Anyone who actually gives a shit about this show knew this months ago.

Thirded.

"It's just perfect, and hilarious, and scary, and tragic…I mean, we learn why Bruce chose a BAT (because of the bats coming out of the cave when he proposes to Andrea)…How unexpected was that?"

"I would have never in a million years thought that Luke Skywalker would be the greatest Joker ever."

@Pandatron — One has to wonder where they got that idea. I mean, it's been made clear from flashbacks that Pre-Vampire Liam is nothing at all like Souled-Vampire Angel.

I'd also suggest springing for the DVDs, if for no other reason than the commentaries are fun to listen to.

One of my favorite bits from this two-parter, ever since it first aired (lemme stop for a moment and weep at the realization of how long it was), was the scene on the talk show when the 'woman' comes up, grabs the camera, and shifts into Clayface before reaching the stage. I've got a weakness for dramatic entrances,

Having seen the movie, I really think even more than I did before seeing it that I'd actually prefer it if the alien had Roger's voice from American Dad.

The problem is that nobody knows what the right amount of alarm is appropriate for nuclear reactors because for the last few decades *everyone's* either been overplaying it for effect or underplaying it to counterbalance the overplayers.
