Actually, This Book is Wonderful
This book is pretty hilarious, ponderous, thrilling, and nutty. The narration is very controlled, justifiably set in the first person (which you don't see a lot: a justifiable use of the first person, since many authors tend to use the first person as a crutch), and not so much about

Regardless of the last five minutes, "War of the Worlds" is generally a really devastating movie. Like, way more depressing that typical popcorn fare. (Which might be way those last five minutes are even more terrible than anything, considering the whole movie was just destruction and war-influenced images for two

I watched Gregg Araki's "Kaboom!" It was odd. Though fun. I think.

Unprecedented Joy
My God, I hope we can all have the same blissful joy that Segal seems to be exhibiting in every one of these promos.

So Excited
Yes. Yes I am.

For as old as he is, it's probably not that difficult for him anymore.

I Actually Agree with Keith Phipps
The book experience and the movie-watching experience are entirely different. I think a great example of this is the Harry Potter series, where the first two were straight and boring adaptations of the novels, but then Warner Bros. wised up and focused much more on the whole

I think it's a great summer song. JAM OF THE SUMMER. And reminds me of El Guincho more than anything. But that might be more of an association between the two music videos.

I like it a lot, too. But…isn't it a little too early to saying that it's better than "Mirrored"? I mean, like, we're still all reeling from the excitement of a new Battles record that it's easy to distort what's going on in it.

An Excerpt
I have this book but haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

Or at least the first half of "Catching Fire," before Collins freaked out and repeated the first book, then had to spend book three covering the ground in book two and never really getting around to a third part.

The First Person Interviews
One of the biggest respects I have to pay to the show is its avoidance of the direct interviews. Too often, that device is like a crutch (you see this especially in latter seasons of "The Office" and the beginning of "Parks and Recreation") that delivers quick exposition or jokes that

PLUS THE DVD NEXT WEEK!
Just so we can properly catch up.

Huge Block Lettering
That's what sold me.

Anyone Read the Book?
Apparently, the Powers book is a lot of fun. It sounds like Disney abandoned anything the book did in favor of more Jack.

"The Great Night" is a lot better than this review makes it sound; that being said, it doesn't quite match up to the previous work Adrian has done. There are some wonderful parts in the books — when the faeries lose their child, the Christian family band — but the whole book reads like Adrian was too consciously

Aaaaaand, Fran, here's why you're wrong:

@narwin

I think he just needs movies where he's not obviously trying to pick up a paycheck. (See: Marmaduke.)

For a guy who apparently writes all his scripts longhand, he sure does have the penmanship of a third grader.
