He sounds pretty dicky throughout the second movie. The lines aren't that different from the first one, but Murray's performance is crucial - he's basically sleepwalking through the sequel.

"I'll hunt you and shoot you down like a duck."

This guy, right here.

Main thing I remember about this movie is the terrible Burger King "I Luhhhhve This Place!!" commercial tie-in, where the spokesman said, "I think this is gonna be the biggest movie of the Summer!" And it was at that very moment that a 12-year-old me realized, don't ever seek the advice of fast food spokesmen.

I just wanna go on the record and say that 1992 was a much cooler year than 1993, and the AV Club totally missed the mark last year.

Don't play that song, that achy breaky song. . .

That was the year I transitioned from elementary school to junior high. What was I doing? Scouring Showtime and Cinemax late at night for a good fix. . . seriously, this is one area where kids these days have NO IDEA how easy they have it.

American Sign Language?

This was exactly the problem I had with VH1's "I Love The 90's" series. They did the first one in 2004. What's the fun of looking back "nostalgically" at all the crazy shit we did five years ago?

Though it probably makes Barenaked Ladies really happy.

Please tell me he actually said "Lebron James' wee wee" during the interview.

They're also the same guys who played on Mutations and Midnite Vultures. I'm pretty optimistic.

Song for song, you're right. Guero was written from a very different place, it's a lot more somber and reflective than Odelay. But reviews then and now tend to point out that it was the first time Beck wasn't treading new ground, or seemed to be consciously revisiting prior material. (Not just Odelay, "Hell Yes"

The main difference is, he's been a Scientologist all his life, he didn't discover it once he got rich and delusional. Might not make a lot of sense, but at least he's been consistent.

Not really, cuz that's exactly what he did with Guero.

I fucking loved "Precious Declaration" when I was 16. I do not feel the same way now.
Thing that always drove me nuts about Collective Soul is the way the singer couldn't ever say 'I.' It always came out as "wah." "Wah believe all hope is dead no longer."

And older.

Because they got incredibly, incredibly lucky and joined the small echelon of musicians who actually made money for a while. It's not an easy thing to willingly quit. I'd like to think I'd walk away from something like that on principal, but honestly? I'd probably stick with it for as long as I could.

Liked for the context. "El Asso Wipo to 4 Hour Erection: What's this ding-dong thing?!?"

"All that glitters is gold, only raging egomaniacal assholes break the mold. . ."
