I'm a little late to this discussion but while it might help to have a ton of money, you don't need to be a millionaire to live in New York.  I did it for years while working a retail job while studying in an acting studio. Sure, many times I was paycheck to paycheck just to pay rent and buy food but I still lived

A while back I had to go to Weehawken for work.  I was in a house right on the cliff overlooking the Hudson.  The house was a beautiful, old three story building that was being renovated.  They were putting in giant picture windows in the back that essentially turned the view into a moving, living picture of the

Roosevelt Island is a trip.  There's no real signs for anything, just "CHINESE RESTAURANT" OR "LAUNDRY".  And you have to take a shuttle around.  And the subway stop is like 2 miles underground.  And they light up the ruins of the old asylum at night (which actually looks pretty cool.)  Strange place but very

You know, in the four years I lived at that apartment, I never walked the bridge or even KNEW there was a pedestrian path.  Walking the Brooklyn Bridge is cool, though.

This really is a gorgeous opening montage of the city.  My old apartment was a block away from the 59th street bridge and it was always amazing to walk out and see it spanning across the East River.  It's sort of a very ugly structure in the daytime, with traffic clogging the entrance but alone in the early morning

G is for "Ghost Train".  It doesn't exist, despite the fact I've actually taken it.
