I remember seeing shows at either the Manhattan Knitting Factory or the Cutting Room, I forget which.  The venue sucked for the most part but they'd have five or six bands play on a random night so at least you could drink and see if any of them were decent.

I agree to most of that but I think one of the most under realized art scenes in NYC is theater.  I know this sounds absurd with the big budget of Broadway, The Public and whatnot but there are still a ton of small projects that get put on in basements and halls and small theaters.  And I'm not talking exclusively

Growing up around New York in the 80's and living there (granted, Post Giuliani) I can say that portions of Amsterdam were more unsafe than any other city I've been to in the States.  I was born around the time of the whole "Bronx is Burning" era and people I know who grew up in that period say it really was that bad.

Jesus, that man was beautiful.  Seriously, it's hard to think of 'Hollywood Star' and come up with a more handsome individual.

"Wash day tomorrow!"  I had no idea that scene was filmed there.

If we're talking about shortbread cookies we best be talkin' about Lorna Doones.  Those things are awesome.

Frozen Thin Mints are good but they don't have anything on Oreos dunked in milk until completely soggy.  They should do a taste test judging which types of foods are best when somehow modified (frozen, burnt, with milk, some other strange condiment pairing, etc.)

I was actually going to make a comment on her nails.  They do look really cool.  I'm gonna guess she got the color at American Apparel.

C'mon.  You honestly think Samoas are better than Thin Mints?  Listen, I love Samoas but Thin Mints are like crack.  (And probably just as healthy).
