That Primal Scream track is pretty cool.  Here's their 'Spiritualized' remix:

'18' is excellent and really, really depressing.  It doesn't help that it was released right after 9/11 and I was listening to it while looking for apartments to rent in NYC.

That is just all things awesome.  I love that they flat out steal 'Rock and Roll pt. 2'.

I like that this genre has been given an entry here.  Reading the comments, some people have brought up artists that sort of cross boundaries (DJ Shadow comes to mind) which made me think that Turntablism and cut/mix djs might make for a good future GtG column.  I've spun for years and followed the DMC since I was a

I remember being blown away by the video for Orbital's 'The Box'.

'Surrender' is my favorite and 'Further' from last year was excellent.

Damn, I haven't thought about Spooky in ages.  He had a kick ass song on the 'Slam' sound track.

I immediately thought the same thing but as @avclub-525f76574b3a2a5bcb4da793c92a16fb:disqus points out, he really is sort of a different genre all to himself.  I don't say this often but Richard D. James is fucking brilliant.  A new Aphex album needs to happen.

Cowgirl makes me want to run through the streets.  It's a pure adrenaline rush.  I can see how Underworld puts some people off but they do a brillant job of tweaking out 12 minute songs that sort of mutate into cool different aspects.

A few later period missteps aside, the Chems are awesome.  'Surrender' is one of my top 10 all time favorite albums and what they released recently with 'Further' and the 'Hanna' soundtrack have been a great return to form.

I think that was the initial idea behind the song.  The drum beat is almost identical.  So cool.

@avclub-0f0d67e214f9fef69b278e3d08114da9:disqus Thank god I've found someone else who despises 'Big Fish'.  Granted, I've only seen it once or twice and I should revisit it before making such declarations but I remember it as such a saccharine piece of garbage that I was actively angry while watching it in the

Yes.  I will caution that, while most people I know love it (as much as that's possible) those who don't care for it REALLY hate it.  For what it's worth, it's one of the few books I've picked up, could not put down and simply had to take a moment and collect myself after I finished it.

I'll chime in to agree with you completely.  The first installment was ok while the second was a bloated, overwrought film that seemingly everyone anointed as THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER!  When I realized they were going to play out the entire story of Two-Face an hour and a half into the film, I almost walked out of the

Despite how that came across in the film, there is nothing that compares to how it's described in the book.  I commend how it was adapted but, Jesus, reading that thing was genuinely the most depressing, moving things I've ever done.

I cannot like @ZorroMeansFox:disqus 's post enough.  I'm stealing this and freely using it as my own.

I think Hot Topic and Spencer Gifts got to them waaaaaay before.

You can always spot the fake @Scrawler2:disqus by her hi-top shoes and incredibly foul mouth.

SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO LOSE EVERYTHING…

I think it's the fact that the first two 'Godfather' films are so pitch perfect and stylistically identical (I've always viewed them as one complete film) that the third comes across as so brash and obnoxious.    Even if viewed as a stand alone movie, it's overblown, pretentious and not very good.
