Dropping in a little late but I watched the Criterion set last night and it's insane how many extras they include. A re-mix set NEEDS to be released because just about every one is fucking stellar.

Oscar winner Emenem. Presented by Barbra Streisand.
No, that really is a fucking cool story.
'Lecensed' was my first cassette, too. It was a copy of a copy of a copy and the little piece of tape where you wrote the name of the album on had an ugly orange stripe. In fact, I think the cassette was actually grey. If I still had that thing I'd probably frame it right now.
There's a prequel!? I have to check that out. Thanks for the heads up.
Amazing that a guy with that much hatred and confliction could make flat-out beautiful music.
Yo shut the fuck up chico man!
A hero of my childhood is gone. I'm pretty much speechless right now.
"I've got a bone to pick with capitalism and a few to break."
Holy shit, 'Learn to Swim' is such a 'fuck you' song. I've never been to L.A. but just listening to that song makes me want to wipe it off the map.
Pretty much any Miles Davis ballad. "Old Folks" in particular makes me automatically settle down. It's sort of the anti-venom of being mad.
Favre by a country mile. And I'm a Giants fan.
Oh they know what they did. . . THEY KNOW!
I actually haven't seen it in some time and this gives me a great reason to re-watch it. Hope it makes it as an entry. I don't know how familiar you are with the film but the 'less you know, the better' philosophy stands to good reason here. Although there is plenty to keep you interested throughout.
@wolfmansRazor:disqus No, you're completely correct. I don't know a whole lot about Miike so I can't really speak that much to his entire body of work and I don't mean to come off as simplistic. I agree that 'over the top' violence is a part of the aesthetic and that's what I meant when I said that his films are…
Finale? Like the show is finally over? For good? Thank fucking god. I guess they got my letters (death threats).
I bought a box set of some Japanese horror films for like $12 and 'Suicide Club' was included. I had no idea what it was about and the opening scene had my jaw on the floor. What's even more amazing is how really good the rest of the movie is. I was honestly stunned at how much I loved it.
Completely agreed. While disturbing there are many, many other more revolting films, much of which have little more than shock value. Miike actually makes really good movies that happen to sometimes be over the top violent.
I don't know if you're accepting suggestions for NCC or not but I'd recommend 'Suicide Club'. A very well done, interesting film that manages to be moving and horrifying at the same time.
I bet you were just boiling over to see it.
