Rewatched it tonight on Netflix.  Definitely played a lot better for me this time around.  In the 10 yrs since, my tastes have changed a little.  And I'm sure exposure to stuff like Ti West's movies have only increased my prospects of embracing a slowburner like this now than before.  It does certain things really

I watched this once, maybe 10 years ago, and it didn't do much for me then.  I probably should revisit it, since I like a ghost story and all.

So underrated.

Eh.  I like "Island in the Sun", lazy guitar solo and all.

Oh is that what it is?  I had forgotten about her mistake with the director.  That makes alot of sense though.

He was much better than Gervais.

I've never seen any movie with Kristen Stewart in it but her presence, how she carries herself, how she speaks, etc. on late night shows and so forth is …. I dunno, the girl lacks poise?

Ah, I see there's a Gateway to Geekery entry.

I know next to nothing about this artist, except that Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are beloved by the commentariat on this site and had one of their songs featured in a Harry Potter movie.  Where should one start?

The Elena's Revenge possibility crossed my mind as well as soon as her face changed when the sire bond was invoked by Damon.  Her expression was so alien and vacant (a tremendous job by Dobrev) and dangerous.  And with the way Damon sort of looked away from her and back at the Stefan and Caroline, it was like he had

It took me a long time to not "see" Matt as Tyra's rodeo cowboy bf from FNL.  That was pretty distracting for a while.  But he's really grown on me in this show and he was great in this episode.

There's something really great about the way the scene captures the texture and other delicious properties of the strudel that makes it hard to resist.

The strudel scene in Inglorious Basterds makes me hungry every time without fail.

I actually like this okay.

Agreed.  This is the kind of shit LOST would do all the time.  It's like you're stuck on an island with each other and you're mad at each other but all you do is just glower at each other for a few seconds, say something cryptic, and walk off in opposite directions …. just in time for a commercial break.

klaus/morgan's been far and away the best thing this season.  he acts his ass off every week and every scene he is in feels of a higher quality than the surrounding scenes without him.

I binge-watched four out of the five seasons of FNL and I very remember walking around school or work and feeling like I was still in Dillon.  The show really got under my skin and I was thinking about it all the time.  I don't know that any other show that I've binge-watched has created that same vivid experience for

@LurkyMcLurkerson:disqus So I binge-watched The Vampire Diaries in exactly the same way (binged on S1-S3 in order to watch S4 live).  I think someone mentioned this somewhere else in the comments for this article but binge-watching a show that is otherwise fun but may have a few problems or flaws does seem to allow

That's kind of a tough call because, as you note,LOST was kind of a cultural phenomenon and I don't know that you can recreate that experience for yourself now.  If you're okay with not getting all your questions answered and just want to go along for part of the ride, watch the really excellent first season at

The Corrections were a real chore.  If the point was to depress me and for me to hate these people in the story, then it absolutely is a masterpiece.
