I definitely groaned at how unsexy it was.

"like she's trying to dislodge a poo" made me LOL so loud I nearly did some of my own dislodging.

Better Than Ezra's "Good"

Haha, four years huh?  Wow.  For some reason, I thought it was just recently.  But you're probably right, I can't pretened to know the ins and outs of her life, I'm not even a fan of her music.

You are mostly correct.
Except when DeNiro and McElhone have that awkward sex in the car during the stakeout: then it's more like Bonin'.

Yeah.  And this is an even bigger issue now that the show has gone live format versus before.  He's got a job to do and he's trying to do it in the timely manner that's required and most of the chatter that comes from the coaches, at that point, is inane chatter and them hedging themselves to not look mean or

@avclub-d8285e1668f1116b9947c084b0123532:disqus Yeah, I can see Jermaine being alot more versatile than Jesse.  His souled-up "Complicated", for ex, is I think proof of that.

I was pretty stunned that Jesse got cut.  I do think he was the best singer in the competition.  I guess, after thinking about it and thinking about Christina's spiel on growth and being receptive to input, it makes some sense: he's a grown-ass man and is closer to being a finished product.  He doesn't seem like he

I kept waiting for him to reminder her: "Christina, this is an instant elimination.  INSTANT.  …… INSTANT."

Yes, yikes.  I mean, godbless her, she's a talented individual.  But maybe someone should have suggested she not go out there dressed like that so soon after having a kid?

I find Chris Mann really dull but apparently that's not a view shared by everyone.  America voted him through before.  And the reviewer at EW said something along the lines of him having a voice with the warmth of a thousand teddy bears, which I just don't hear at all.

She's obnoxious.

@avclub-b8bf98401c8ed957704fc86e6d33b2a5:disqus I think you're right in all regards as to Pete's character and the role he plays on the show.  Like I said, I like his character and sympathize with him.  He's right in alot of regards.

If Don slips, then I'd say his character shows no real progress since the beginning of the show.  Are we to believe that he's stuck, that his life is stuck in this sort of spin cycle of cheating etc?  That's just a depressing arc to write for the centerpiece of your show and I don't think Draper's a genuine

Don't think Ken's line there was at all meant to show that he's simple or stupid or whatever but rather to suggest that he thinks Pete's joke was lousy.

@avclub-ba0a95f8ef733a213eb3bd8674a90453:disqus I'd like to hear more about your mixed feelings, if you don't mind.  I like Pete's character and I sympathize with him on some issues though I find him a bit disgusting in other regards.  Overall though, I enjoy seeing him on the screen and I like the work done by the

Kurt was the vaguely European gay guy that took Peggy to a concert?  I loved the way his English was so broken, it made for some really hilarious reactions from the other office folk.

@avclub-7833d176ad6f6dde5efc95848e6f47a8:disqus I think you nailed it.

Yeah, nicely done here.  I particularly liked your explanation of Ken as a target for those who envy his happyness.  Someone else on here commented how Ken is the most modern of the characters because he is the one who is the least attached to his work.  It's just a job for him.  I don't know if we are more like that

You can see the cold in the performances during the climax, how it physically affects them, how hard it is for them to move, how hard it is for them to keep chanting.  It gives the scene a conviction that isn't normally there in other movies relating to the same subject matter.
