I was happy to see Ty and Ed have a strong episode.  Particularly, Ty after his pretty miserable episode last wk w/ the lacerated hand and close call at the judge's table.

You mean like Ms. Pacman or some shit?

I had actually never heard of or heard The Shins until I saw Garden State in the theaters.  I'm THAT guy.  Change my life?  No.  Open some doors though, sure.

Just take a page from Method Man's playbook.  Sew their assholes shut.  And keep feeding them and feeding them and …

Wow.  Yeah, I also remember thinking it's "Forrest Gump but with a horse."  Which pretty much falls in line with what you said.

Maybe I need to watch ToL again but I found myself thinking that I really wished the modern-day wrapper (feat. Sean Penn) was excised from the movie, leaving only the (for lack of a better term) flashback story.  Do y'all think it would have been a stronger movie without the scenes featuring Penn and the modern age?

My brother and I started laughing when we saw the trailer in the theater.  Seriously, it looked like a freaking parody of all the trite pets_save_the_day flicks you might see as a child/adolescent.  Then, I see it on all these lists and cited as hugely anticipated and so forth.  Puzzled, I was.

I had a good time watching it at the Alamo Drafthouse with some friends and some beers.  Chalk up some of that noise you cite as the product of its release date, perhaps?  It was one of the more enjoyable and widely-seen movies of a summer that was fairly average.  (It was a summer release, right?)

Do without friends for a while.  Get some cats.

cool.

Makes you wonder a little bit.  So, she hasn't tried to leave the house at all for at least two wks then?  She's a teenage girl - don't they live at the mall and at places like Hot Topic?  I guess she's crazy depressed and so that explains it.

shitty compared to what exactly … ?  what did you expect it to be … ?  you were clearly very disappointed to have such a strong reaction to a movie that is otherwise pretty inoffensive.

Well, you've got me there.  The movie and I were on familiar terms.  I got to know it on a deeply personal level.  All the nooks and crannies, if you will.  And then it left me because things got too kinky.  Different strokes for different folks, y'know?

No way.

Yeah, implied in the original movie and certainly there in the book.

Exactly.  I remember Ed saying, these steaks are ready, they have to go.  And then someone telling him that it's too early.

Ah, now I get it.  Your point is that Tylor did it backwards?  He should have gone oven to grill instead of what he actually did.  That makes alot of sense.

"Ya" is not a word; u just rite "u."

That's exactly what I look like!!!

I think ALOT of ppl forget how good it is.  I love David Fincher's work and have enjoyed pretty much everything he's done.  But I do think this movie is my favorite of his.
