I smoked a vaporizer with Taran Noah Smith (who you'll know as Tim Allen's youngest son on Home Improvement) at a friend of mine's party in Lawrence, KS. That was good for a few laughs.
You're right, the "Blue Monday" thing was a fuck-up on my behalf. Now that I'm thinking about it I recall reading Greg Wilson talk about how "Dirty Talk" was the single record that inspired "Blue Monday". I think I had originally been meaning to reference "Voodoo Ray" and those sorts of records instead. I stand…
What gives?
Really shocked to such a high volume of embarrassingly stupid comments on this subject…
The Moon
"It's so bright and milky white, shining down upon the ground. He's so bright. Milky white. Shining down upon the ground. Everybody look at the moon! Everybody's seeing the moon! The moon is bright. He's milky white. Everybody look at the moon!"
Re: Geddy Lee Marvin…
I canceled mine to Twasn't, Tweren't, and Not Dick, Not Ass Quarterly.
This'll make the night Lincoln got shot look like a peanut.
Q: How many dead Wayans babies can you fit in a dumpster?
The best part about my experience at a Dave Matthews show was when I took too big a pull off a nitrous balloon, fell over, blasted my head on the side of a picnic bench and went unconscious for the remainder of the show.
Sorry… Thought that was a no no on these boards.
Predator Rap
Check it out on youtube, it's like a play-by-play of the entire movie… And it's bloody fucking hilarious as well.
I was recently incredibly moved when I went to see Adventureland. The scene where it's the 4th of July and they're watching fireworks to the tune of 'Don't Dream It's Over'… It's not a scene where there's any great sense of loss or anything of that sort… There's just a fleeting sense of nostalgia about it that…
Agreed… A lot of the stuff by and related to FSOL are good examples. 'ISDN' would probably be my personal choice.
I sort of feel like this list almost misses its own point and I'll explain why.
I second whoever mentioned 'Powder.' I remember Mario Van Peebles' 'Gun Men' being spectacularly awful as well. I also recall '200 Cigarettes' making me want to disembowel myself with a dull pumpkin carving knife.
Beaches 2: Leaches
Try to be best
'Cause you're only a man
And a man's gotta learn to take it
Try to believe
Though the going gets rough
That you gotta hang tough to make it
History repeats itself
Try and you'll succeed
Never doubt that you're the one
And you can have your dreams!
