I don't have the skill for restoration work. It's a mix of sculpting and cosmetology, and I am just not artist enough to do an acceptable job. (I'm David in so many ways. Sadly, not nearly as cute.)

Edit: that should be skatole, not scatole. Sorry chem majors :)

In life, the body is full of microorganisms (especially in the digestive tract), most of which are kept in check by various bodily defenses. At death, everybody's given free range. Plus, there's no longer an immune response, so whatever's in the air can come right in and proliferate.

The Fisher's loathing of Kroner is a pretty accurate view of how (many? most?) family firms feel about the corporates. It's similar to what, say, a small business owner would think of Wal-Mart.

Thanks for the thumbs up/invite to comment.

Matthew Gilardi and the Kroner "family of quality death-care facilities"
As an employee of the corporation Kroner is patterned after, let me tell you that there is no satirical exaggeration in any of the corporate-speak dialogue used in the series. Yes, people really talk and think that way in the business.

"It's not half as bad as when Bam-Bam spent the night at Michael Jackstone's Neverland BC ranch!"

Based on song titles, the Peter Kurten album is fascism free. Of course, their next disc was Buchenwald, followed by New Britain, and Great White Death shortly thereafter….

Peter Kurten was a pedophile serial killer, but (to the best of my knowledge) he wasn't a Nazi.

Haven't seen The Defilers, but just added it to the top of my Netflix queue.

I thought the point of power noise was to revel in the absolute abject, humanity at a point so awful that it could almost not be considered human. And what's more inhuman than the atrocities of the Third Reich?

I've read Tool (it's also included in Total Abuse). Pretty good, especially the commentary on his arrest, but paled in comparison to Pure (which is available here: http://heavyelectronics.wor… and Parasite (Sotos' multi-issue review zine of true crime/pornography/music/femminist writing).

"Fight For Your Life" and "Caligula" are both fantastic.

Here are some items from my library that I know I'm supposed to be offended by/morally uncomfortable with, but that I love:

Does death come alone…
This is truly, truly sad news.

Hated Ex-protege?
Are Trent and Marilyn fighting again? I thought they kissed and made up with the "Starfuckers, Inc." video.

@Warren Oates
I've read reviews saying the version of "Waterpower" on the double bill is cut. And I need every precious second of enema footage that puppy has to offer!

Alex de Renzy! I'd love to read an AV Club review of "Femmes de Sade." Or an entire Gateway to Geekery on hardcore roughies.

According to the American Heritage Dictionary and the Random House Dictionary, necrophiliac is a word and can be used as both an adjective and a noun. Sadly, I don't have an OED handy….

No Macabre?
Considering most of their songs are about murderers, I'm surprised Chicago's own metal gods Macabre missed the list. Examples:
