I'm still amazed that anyone remembers a minor moment from an award show 20 years later.

HBO is almost always classier than that. That sort of thing is more Spike.

Except there isn't much of a literary mainstream in this country. Sure there are trashy popular books, but we usually only get one or two of those a year and they don't win awards. The hardcore literary types might win a Pulitzer or Nobel prize, but those are rarely regarded as being primarily about literature.

Because it's considered rude to wear a hat indoors?

Since they'll be butchering another sci-fi/fantasy classic soon why not do it as a buddy story between Hot Pie and Hot Soup.

Are you saying that it was gratuitous to build up all issue long only to then rewind back and show the same thing from the other side in the next one rather than giving the promised resolution? Perish the thought!

I'm sure Jeff appreciates it, but seriously man, tone down the stalker vibe a bit.

I thought it had merely become untenable because the market had moved on to either buying from Amazon for low prices and a large selection or buying from locally-owned shops and likely paying more for a smaller selection because of Reasons. Thus leaving no room for a middle-ground chain retailer.

Eh, I could barely last through the first episode. That they're all clones is obvious before it even spells it out extra slowly for you in the opening credits (c'mon, there's a double-helix background!). I mean, maybe time travel, but it didn't give me that vibe so much as "this person is killing herself because she

Far from being appropriate for those "10 and up" I'm suspecting this won't be entirely appropriate for anyone under 30.

The TV show seems to have the idea that anything that took a couple issues in the comic and thus was probably read in about 20 minutes should instead last for pretty much a full short season of hour-long episodes.

Andrea's only my favorite character in the comics. I really hate the horrible character they gave her name to on the show. Glenn though, yeah, perennial second-favorite. Possibly my favorite on the show though because they didn't screw him up in the adaptation and actually bothered to do a decent job in the casting.

Damn, Simon Pegg is sounding rather posh these days. He's got a pretty solid career brewing in voice-overs if he ever needs to fall back on it some day.

For reference (in decreasing order of drunkeness):

Name a Volvo that does not elicit despair.

I still use my 50-disc changer as my primary means of listening to music.

Yeah, but we all know he really meant 18th and Vine. And until that "white people with money really want people to think they like jazz" redevelopment happened nobody went there.

You're all making me feel ridiculously old for not having been young enough to experience this or even be aware of it in any way.

And possibly who likes it when his two chums ride in the back of his jalopy.

There's an obvious solution to that though: Chet ate it all.
