Yeeeah, no. She actually (briefly) admitted in 2010 that he didn't have autism, but Landau–Kleffner syndrome, which has similar symptoms but can be treated and may disappear later. Since then she's backpedaled into claiming that she "cured" his autism with all of her bullshit pseudoscience treatments.
Mine was reading that Jenny McCarthy's son doesn't have autism, and she's backed off from her rabid anti-vaccine stance to "vaccines need more studies done".

It really seemed like they were trying to make the characters more three-dimensional at the start of the series. Big Jim is more than just a mustache-twirling villain, Junior isn't just a tumor-riddled serial killer, Barbie has a dark side, etc.
Season 2 reveals that she's talking to a bunch of ghost/hologram/Dome cops that only she can see.
