I thought it was implied that only Garnet and Rose went on missions at this point, but I'm not sure why I thought that.

Rainbow is pretty close, but I guess she loses being short some arms.

I wish I could remember the eloquent post I saw on tumblr about that… I don't think it's a direct metaphor for sex, but there are a lot of clear obviously intentional links.

I hope so too. I thought it was pretty obvious that last episode was just the start of the relationship. I don't know why people were judging at that point.
