This was a very basic Family Guy episode, but it was still packed with laughs, and that's all it ever wanted to be (a show that makes people laugh).

Stewie and Brian deserve their own spin-off, maybe with the Family Guy characters in guest roles. But Stewie and Brian are awesome, and they're constantly weighed down by Family Guy's consistent mediocrity. There can never be enough episodes focused on them in one season.
The new dog isn't the replacement character that was mentioned. The replacement character hasn't been announced yet. Also, why on earth would they kill off Brian. They may as well cancel the show. Him and Stewie's episodes are the highest rated in the show's history, and they are two fan-favorites for sure.
It would…
Family Guy is simply a comedy show, nothing more. It doesn't need a deep, sentimental storyline - pandering to its critics - it just needs to make people laugh. And, like it or not, Family Guy makes millions of people laugh on a daily basis. Family Guy has made a couple of thoughtful episodes (the bank vault ep comes…
RE: NatT96, TheBrian and Stewie episodes aren't "slapped together". In fact they're the only episodes that truly give an impression of dedicated plot handling.
Roads to Vegas was definitely better than the C+ which you put!
Ah well, at least the Brian and Stewie plots are always there to look forward to. There were quite a few brilliant moments with them this season, but there's never enough :)
Yug Ylimaf was certainly not as good as the other two I mentioned, but it was reasonable.
Good point, I think Family Guy will just be "the Brian and Stewie show" for the rest of its existence.
This episode isn't as bad as season 9 or even the last season, I don't think the grades are inflated. The "Roads to…" was easily worth a B.
"a liberal tool" and "a evil genius baby"….two criminally vague character descriptions when you're talking about Brian and Stewie. This is why is dislike MacFarland's reviews, full of contradicting, superficial tripe!
I agree, the fact they made a spin-off with Cleveland was always going to be a let-down. He was funny, but not a great character. Brian and Stewie could easily fill their own show, but as you said, it would practically kill Family Guy if they left.
This was one of the best episodes for a while, it was a sustainable storyline which didn't have too many useless cutaways and pointless sub-plots. It was funny too…
Why, they're the most developed/interesting characters on the show! Yes, they don't get cheap laughs like Quagmire and Peter, but they're interesting characters (they're above Family Guy)
About 7 years ago…I've seen every episode…your point is!? Not a great comeback from you there XD
I wasn't looking forward to an episode about Peter and his drinking buddies, but this wasn't a bad episode certainly, the cutaways weren't too unbearable, and the A and B-plots actually made sense in relation to each other.
Agreed. I think "Brian and Stewie" got a lot of unnecessary criticism, but I thought it was a very clever, original episode, with some great jokes also.
A recycled "Road to…" plot is still better than most FG episodes.
This episode is further proof that Family Guy is only good when it becomes "The Brian and Stewie show"!
Brian saved Mayor West…
There was a moment where Quagmire finally admitted that Brian had got something right (during the orgy reenactment). It was funny at that moment that Brian was speaking to him with his legs spread
