This episode was definitely worth a C. The Chris/Meg plot was a bit weak (so it was worth a D)…but as always, the Brian and Stewie plot saved the episode (their bit was worth a B)…and that's comes out to a fair C.

The Quagmire hating Brian thing was so random, but it's not even random humour, it's randomly awful!
Brian and Stewie are the show's best characters and this episode proves this, as the only genuine good moments of last night's episodes were the Brian and Stewie moments.
There isn't one - anyway what's your point - what I said is true!
BTW There's a lot of stick about Brian being Seth MacFarlane's mouthpiece on the show, I say to them, what's wrong with that? It means that Brian as a character is different and one who can contrast others, which gives them a chance for good storylines. It doesn't make him arrogant and self-righteous, it only means…
This was an amusing episode, nothing amazing but definitely deserves a B. The multiple strands of the story's narrative worked really well and whilst Meg's section was pretty dull, it was funny to see Brian's exes (including his only canine-partner, Seabreeze) poking fun at him, and him poking fun at them!
The Golden Rule is, if Brian and Stewie only have one scene in a whole episode, it'll always be poor!
Anyway Multialias, what's your problem? I don't like using pictures of myself all over the internet, so (given that the only reason I use this site is for the reviews for Family Guy, why shouldn't it be of a character I like (or now, two characters)??
It's the internet, what's your problem? I was actually commenting on the episode in question, not a different one!
Yes but unlike when he wrote his bestseller he didn't end the episode by blaming Stewie (I didn't really like that episode). He ended it by admitting how sad he was that soon he'd be dead, and he's not even getting a chance to be a 'good' writer (not a great one). It was quite touching and sad.
The shit eating bit in that episode was unnecessary and it did give the episode a bad image. Although the rest of that episode, certainly the end, was really clever!
That's what is called a storyline!
It was a great episode, what's your point!?
Oh that was so moving at the end, when Brian admits that he isn't going to be alive much longer, and he wanted to be a good writer for the rest of his life (5 years), then Stewie could be a great writer!! Brian is always Family Guy's go-to-guy for sentiment, another masterpiece!!
I don't even watch that show, so I can't tell - but either way it was a great episode for Family Guy!
It wasn't yet another "Brian writes something awful", he actually wrote something really good for once, the only problem was that Stewie's was better - so it was a new take on an old idea!
They haven't done Amadeus, or certainly not in that way (showing Brian's tortured mind) and whilst they have referenced Little Shop of Horrors before, this was a new way - so it was funny!
To be fair, "Road to Rhode Island" is easily their best ever episode, and all the other "Road to…" episodes aren't far behind. So I agree with you on that - but this episode was one of the best non-Road to episodes ever! :)
Well clearly you have, because this was the best Family Guy episode in years! It was cleverly written, was very funny, had a touching Brian/Stewie moment and made sense (didn't have too many cutaways)!! Easily an A-
They tried something different, big deal! At least, 200 episodes in Family Guy can still cobble together an A- episode!
