the quality going for another season, but this exceeded all my
expectations. Sure, there were some loose plot points, but
they were pretty minor, and were more than made up for by all the superb
scenes we got.

That's an interesting point, which I haven't seen raised here. The show's treatment of Koreans was condescending and paternalistic, even for it's time. Some of the episodes with the locals are just cringe inducing nowadays.

Radar was starting to become kind of insufferable just before he left. Non-transvestite Klinger was a pretty poor replacement, though.

I think Linville did a fantastic job. Frank, as written, was a pretty thankless role, but Linville managed to give him some humanity. Many times I was rooting for him over Hawkeye.
