That's probably my second least favorite after Emperor Waltz. I just looked at his filmography on wikipedia and they list a propaganda film he did. I haven't seen that one either.

The Emperor Waltz is awful but then again I hate Bing Crosby so I probably didn't give it much of a chance. I haven't seen this one or the other 3 you mentioned either. Fedora seems like it's practically impossible to see and seems to be the most interesting of the later ones.

Ok I'm completely sold now.

Smith has been on Sound Opinions at least twice now, and while I'm kind of meh when it comes to most of the James Brown music that I've heard (admittedly very little outside of the hits), the author makes Brown's life story sound fascinating. I've got to read that thing.

I've been meaning to give that a listen. I've listened to Roderick on the Line (which I sometime enjoy and sometimes find exhausting) but never You Look Nice Today.

How was that show and what did they do exactly? I was a little puzzled by that when I saw them promoting it.

"well, gentlemen, and I do mean that sincerely, you are unassuming, unpretentious and very, very nice people"

That's interesting Lincoln. Scharpling is one of my favorites, hence my retaining a little more about the goings-on of his show than I do almost anything else I'm a fan of.

You're probably right. That was an oddly indulgent one in a usually pretty straightforward show.

That sounds worthwhile to me. Thanks. I'll check it out.
