I could imagine having the same trepidation when Colbert Report was first announced. Which doesn't mean that it's not a valid concern, only that I remain optimistic.

Nothing will replace the Colbert Report, but this is probably the absolute best alternative they could have come up with. Larry Wilmore is a brilliant comedian and has great presence every time he's on the Daily Show.
That is great!
It's weird to feel like this show went too soon, considering it got 2 more seasons than even AD (in its original run). But S4 (which I didn't hate) doesn't feel like an actual season and this season was all about resetting after the missteps.
Well, there is some truth to what he's saying. As someone who grew up in a very religious environment and was made to march in anti-abortion rallies as a kid, I do know that many of the people involved in the movement (such as my mother) are very concerned with what they consider murder, however there is also a very…
I bet Matt Damon plays one of the punk teens. Dude's got range.
Well sure, but then where's the room for the witty banter? I want George Clooney and Brad Pitt.
Since there's only a visual checker, someone needs to replace it with an identical looking coin (that isn't metallic). This involves two people working in consort. The first person takes the coin and replaces it with the forgery, walks out of the museum. Once the first person is out of the museum, the second person…
The checker stole it. Admittedly, it was a pretty lazy plot for Ocean's Fourteen, but at least the witty banter was still top notch.
It's like the Holy Grail….
Is that true?
I agree with your sentiment, but I'm just wondering, how come every time I use the c-word in a post (even when I'm just quoting), my comment gets deleted?
Also, Audrey Hepburn's birthday, and she didn't need CGI to be stunning.
I assume in this case, "great" means 'big' and "personality" means… you know.
I was kind of wondering the same thing. It's been years since I've seen it, myself, but if you're a fan of musicals, it really is one of the tops. (And, of course, the basis for one of the best Simpsons episodes ever.)
I had never read any of Cunningham until last month when I randomly picked up A Home at the End of the World, which I very much enjoyed. This new one doesn't necessarily sound like a must read, but if I were to pick up another one of his works, what would people recommend highest?
That was the only way to respond.
How about we just make it dark and gritty?
Too Far to Care and Satellite Rides are essential in my book, and Fight Songs is them at their alt-countriest, which is very good. Any one of those three albums are worth your dime.
I had the exact same experience with Catcher. Hated in hs, came to appreciate and love it once I was older.
