Well, KU just lost their star Center right before the NCAA tournament, so Sudeikis is probably kind of bummed about that. So, I mean, his life isn't perfect.

I'll have to second that. I cringe more during that scene than I did during 2 girls 1 cup.

I'd be okay with Shakira Law.

I'm glad to have a chance to explain my perspective, and I do appreciate where you were coming from. For the most part, your review expressed almost my exact thoughts on the episode, I just fell off at the end.

I do know Sagan's idea of spirituality, and I can see where that topic has merit in the review (maybe not this particular episode, but in general, certainly). I also know that the word has a lot of baggage, as you mention, which comes up when you say things like "the fundamental hope—or faith, maybe—of science" and

I appreciate how condescending you are in your assumption that I believe words have meaning out of the ether. It allows you to be both wrong and look like an ass in one sentence. I'm actually arguing quite the opposite, which again is why what I said was not a contradiction. I didn't flatly say that the word has

I'm not new to Sagan or the idea of spirituality in the realm of science. I've read a book or two in my life. My point was that it felt unnecessary. I appreciate that these reviews do tend to be open-ended places for the reviewers to free associate, but as this particular episode went out of its way to show how

They're not contradictory at all. When something ceases to have any definitive meaning, it has no meaning at all. It's kind of the same with the idea of 'God.' Once you attempt to define the idea in firm, definitive terms, they'll be someone to tell that isn't they're definition (of god or spirituality or whatever).

Nah, that's the meaning I've always used.

I'm listening…

She should probably stop crying, then.

Just a joke *wink*

We're all agreed that these people should be hunted down and killed before they can breed, right?

I'm more like "string theory is interesting, why should I care about spirituality?" I get why people approach it from a 'spiritual' sense, I just don't think it's worthwhile. Maybe if the idea of spirituality weren't bogged down with so much baggage, I wouldn't care. But as someone said up above, the term is so

I'm not saying there shouldn't be a history of science in this, I just found this portion to be particularly long-winded. In the end, it wasn't a big drag on the show, just kind of a lull (for me).

This was pretty good, can't wait for more episodes. I agree with John that the animated stuff kind of dragged for me. It's interesting history, but I wish more time was spent on science.

I wouldn't say worthless, but that gif did make the song infinitely better. Where's the 24-hour video of that?

Yeah, I think Marah is reading something into the video that isn't there. I kept waiting for some sort of twist, but I'm not really seeing the Instagram society thing reflected in the visuals (I didn't get that in the lyrics either, but I could have easily missed something on first listen).

I will always defend this show because I loved it til the end. Season 7 was terrible, but otherwise I enjoyed it (yes, even S8).

No, that wasn't the reason.
