Personally, I think the DS9 battles were better aesthetically then the battles in the newer star wars, which always looked "CGI-ish" to me.

The station might be more heavily shielded then ships could be.

We've also never seen Fleet sized battles.  Fighters would go down quicker but would be harder to hit.

Damar is like the Cardassian Riker.  Of course he was "sweet" on her.

It remnds me of a Stalin quote.  At the funeral of his first wife, he is alleged to have said  "This creature softened my heart of stone. She died and with her died my last warm feelings for humanity."

MILD SPOILERS    Maybe it was something the Romulans built for the Dominion war.  In the book "Tales of the Dominion War" there's a good story where Shinzon's mission is to destroy a Tal'Shiar research facility that has been captured by the Dominion.  He retakes the facility but instead of destroying it, takes the

Actually I think , um,  that if you were a lady, the changeling thing could work really well for you.

In my mind, the changelings can duplicate human biology to a certain extent.  They have some kind of quantum sense that allows them to duplicate objects at the quantum level.  The reason Odo couldn't do things like taste is because he wasn't a very good shapeshifter-  but he can clearly use the eyes he makes to a

So of course, because this is the AV club, the question is begged:   Would you hit it?

I have alot to say about that one.

I think they were trying to replicate the original series dynamic of Kirk, Spock, and McCoy.

Picard all the way.  He respected the lives of every member of his crew.  Sisko was awesome, but wasn't as deeply ethical as Picard.

It works better when you slow down the intro footage.

There are a few scenes from future episodes cut in, so those who are extremely spoiler sensitive, don't watch the second video (the first is fine)

If you guys want to see footage of Dax's mission to take out the sensor array in the argolis cluster, here ya go…   http://www.youtube.com/watc…

Everyone on the board is secretly Grumpy Cat.

I imagined it as like a bar with two sides, where side is serving the Jem'hadar, and the other the Cardassians, but for some wacky reason, the two can't know about the other, and Rom has to keep running to the bathroom to change wigs.

I don't think the linking between the Founder and Odo was really focused on the solids at all.   And it seems like for the Founders, the solids are more of an afterthought anyway (at least untill SPOILERS     it turns out they are a major major threat, which in a weird way, kind of justifies the Founders' position)

I think it is partially that.   But then he sees it from their perspective, and it's like, huh, I never realized how silly it was to care about bugs before.

Martok is like the zen master of Klingons.  He's Worf's ideal klingon.
