Martok is pretty much Worf's Ideal klingon.

Could have been a bad joke. Or bashir, arrogantly, is always coming up with fantasies where his superpowers saved the day, but now can actually voice them.

Although since Dukat thinks he's the hero, Alaimo should also think he's the hero….   Meta-Method acting?

Apparently all the DS9 actors took their roles very seriously,

Yeah, but the tribble thing is actually relative easy to calculate (a straight forward math problem based on reproduction rates), as opposed to something like "the odds of the success of this mission."

I don't think he was supposed to be super strong, just very smart with very good reflexes and motor control.

@pongirl.   Interesting point.  There's no way to know for sure the writers aren't sort of embellishing their story saying, "look at this clever retcon we came up with that perfectly fit."   Maybe they always had an idea that there was something up with bashir, but didn't know what it was.  Why else the line "There's

This is what you get for not reading every comment before posting.  Sorry Mclerkson.

In explaining any potential continuity problems between the revelation that Bashir is genetically enhanced and the previously established behavior and personality of the character, Ronald D. Moore explained, "It really explained a lot about the character to me. He'd had some strange jigs and jags in his profile over

"Now let us never speak of this again-under penalty of torture!"   Good Call on Siddig's part.

I think his character makes sense.  If you were genetically engineered super-smart, you probably couldn't help but be a little arrogant.  Another thing here, is that Bashir has convinced himself that even without the enhancements, he would have succeeded anyway.  Which might be a bit of self-delusion, but healthy

Meh, given all the time traveling craziness in star trek, it doesn't really bother me that the eugenics war got pushed up.

You put alot of faith in police.

Miller:  Yes exactly.  Pretty much the poster boy for it.

And also something a little more timeless, the idea that you can't really "become" something.  And that the root of desire is the inability to attain, in a fundamental way.  Although I guess you're saying the same thing.  But it is a love story, of a certain sort.  But like you said, an examination of love, of gatsby

Does Ten Things I Hate About You count?

Disagree.  I think Bashir has consistently demonstrated that his medical ethics are of high caliber (with one exception in a future episode.)

What about Favor the Bold/Sacrifice of Angels?   I felt like that was the best "Star Trek Movie" yet.
