Pleasantville definitely gave me a "The Giver" vibe. Like if whoever wrote the screenplay for that definitely read the book.

Don't forget leaving out any non-white celebrity's death! I'm 99% sure Denzel Washington could die tomorrow in some crazy way like a bus explosion and it would be a blip on TMZ.

I think this is Millenial nostalgia, albeit older Millenials. Gen X nostalgia would probably be more 70s-80s stuff.

I'm disappointed but not surprised that it wasn't good. The commercials added way more action than was in the book. The book was really more of a quiet drama but the trailers made it look like a male version of The Hunger Games. I could live with them aging up Jonas (since it would be fairly difficult to find a cast

Sadly I could totally see this becoming a show…

I am convinced she has some sort of disorder. That strange face and the extreme thinness really makes me think there's a problem.

Ehh…I see them doing a solo Wonder Woman cartoon before they do a live-action movie.

I think she's the best choice if they have to choose out of Girls cast members and want someone fairly generic. Lena Dunham (who wants to explain why Peter Pan has an ugly-ass tattoo now) and all of the others are too unconventional looking by generic network TV standards.

I don't really think Polanski or R. Kelly should be on that list since it's pretty much agreed on by critics and the general public that they actual committed their crimes, regardless of what courts say. People are still on the fence about Woody Allen.

I feel like AV Club is not the place to post this…Like 99% of AV Club members are white males between the age of 18-35. They're not watching this, or any movie that has an all-black cast, for that matter.

If I ever become famous, I want Beyonce and Jay-Z's publicist. Other than the thing with Jay-Z and Solange in the elevator, they have miraculously managed to avoid all the PR nightmares that other similar artists have had. The worst things I've heard about them are that 1) Beyonce used a surrogate 2) Jay-Z had an

I remember this song. I'm ashamed to say that I didn't realize that it was about boners until years later when I looked it up on YouTube and read the comments.

I think some Americans just love anything British. I'm sure the British equivalent of Two and a Half Men would get 5/5 stars in the States.

This is slightly off topic, but am I the only person who doesn't think that British shows are inherently superior. I say that because on some sites people fall all over British shows that when you really look at them aren't that good. I've watched a lot of modern British shows (not just Are You Being Served or Fawlty

But it's not as if everybody walking around in the 1980s Compton was beautiful and lightskinned. So if anything it's historically inaccurate to have random Beyonce lookalikes walking around in the background.

What gets me really upset about false rape accusations is not only does it hurt the accused but also people who are actually raped. A lot of rape victims are afraid to come forth because they're afraid people will think it's fake. So people actually faking it doesn't help.

I don't think we'll ever have another band like the Beatles in terms of influence. By the time we got to the 90s, pop music was really segmented. So you have people who grew up with grunge, rap, R&B, etc. Also by the early 2000s we really moved away from bands for whatever reason. I do think that in 30 years we'll

I like House of Cards but Kevin Spacey's accent on that show bothers me. It seems to flip from "over the top stereotypical Southerner" to "mild relatively realistic southerner" to "no accent at all".

The only think I've ever seen by them is "Anal Sex for Jesus" or whatever it's called (the one about Catholic girls who do anal sex to stay virgins) and it was okay but got really preachy near the end.

So basically the action/drama equivalent of 21 Jump Street? I'm not saying that that's a classic but nobody really expected it to be popular.
