Braveheart - both in the scene where William Wallace is getting tortured and he sees his friends and his dead wife. Also, at the end during the last battle when the big buy throws the sword and the narration says they fought like warrior poets. Always gets me.

@EDWANB - yes, I agree, but I still enjoyed the books and movies. But the first few movies I still have a big enjoyment for since they did capture that magic/wonderment/fun/whatever you speak of.

When I was first reading the books as a youngster of 11 back in 1998, I always pictured the books as animated films. So yes, they could have been / could be pretty good.
