There was a whole subplot near the end of last season that was devoted to what was eventually revealed as Finch's wife. (?) I didn't catch onto it this episode until the very end, where they showed the story of their first meeting through Finch's point of view, which I thought was a nice callback.

Wait, Peter destroyed that timeline? I thought it was explained that he managed to bridge the two universes together, thereby avoiding having to pick between one or the other.
