This was a decent episode, but certainly not streets ahead of a typical episode of this show.

"Proud we are of all of them."

Omaha, not if you count the White Stripes.

"Geology Major: Fucking magnets and how they work."

Welcome to 1978!

Sopranos > Six Feet Under > Boardwalk Empire > Deadwood > John From Cincinnati

I'm a real scientist and I'll go along with it.

I just didn't see any reason to watch the show when it was promoted. It looked like another average cop show with no really strong hook to get me interested. The only reason I checked out the last few episodes was because of the buzz on AV Club.

I think that if you take the comments about Shelly Duvall's acting in the Shining and translate them into douchebag, you find that what they are actually meaning to say is "I didn't think she was hot, bro".

I disagree totally
I really like this show and this season in particular.

A poor Bret Easton Ellis novel? Is there any other kind?

True story: I was once attacked nut-job crazy person on a college camping trip to a National Park. My wife was there and this guy claimed that he was an old friend of hers from high school and that he was protecting her from me. She'd never seen him before and they went to different high schools at different

I'm pretty sure there was a throw away line about Deb saying that Dexter should have the apartment back and a couple of episodes ago but they hadn't indicated that she had actually moved out till now.

One the other hand the show is down one original character at this point so having Julia Stiles replace Julie Benz is just maintaining the status quo in a way.

I thought that was his old apartment. I think Deb moved out.

Merle
Did anybody else wonder why such a huge crowd of zombies all showed up at the same time so suddenly last week? Perhaps Merle led them in the panel truck? He had a head start so it would make sense that the zombies arrived just before the group on foot.

except that there isn't a red band trailer, I doubt this will be R-rated.

A Firefly for our time? The red band trailer for this won me over.

santorum

Miller used to actually be funny. I watched a few minutes of his recent stand-up on HBO and he is just not any good now.
