I actually thought he would be perfect casting for Howard Mollinson, in the upcoming BBC production of  J.K. Rowling's The Casual Vacancy. The character was an obese Uncle Vernon type who had heart problems. Now I just feel bad.

Gillen is a strong actor in many ways but he sucks at doing accents. I haven't seen him on The Wire but his English accent in this, American accent in The Dark Knight Rises and lower class Dublin accent in Irish crime drama Love/Hate are all horribly inconsistent.

I couldn't care less about Jeremy's death (I found the character boring and the actor nothing more than eye candy, which is a shame seeing as his grandfather was the great Steve McQueen) but I give a huge round of applause to Nina Dobrev and Zach Roerig for almost making me care thanks to their incredible performances!

I'm in agreement on Andrew Lincoln being a good actor. He's not perfect - the Southern accent could do with some work - but the scene where he discovered Lori was dead! Holy shit! That was amazing acting!

Irish lilt? As an Irish person, I didn't notice anything close to an Irish lilt…just a very inconsistent English accent that irked me to no end. I'm glad he's gone.

I hate to make big broad statements like this but if the vampire cure turns out to be real and not some irritating red herring, I will give up on the show! Vampirism for life…and pushing the reset button on Elena in particular will be one of the huge missteps this show does if they go ahead with it.
