On One Tree Hill Murray was actually originally cast as Nathan, but wanted to play Lucas since he had been abandoned by a parent IRL.
I also loved Tabloid. One of Morris's best.
I love the Goo Goo Dolls. FUCK ALL YOU HIPSTERS!
Leonard Maltin's movie guide had hilarious reviews of all The Howling movies. My brother and I used to read the reviews of those and the Police Academy films out loud to each other and laugh.
My birthday is this week and I wanted a an automatic to add to my collection. Well I learned that you have to get photographed and fingerprinted and a bunch of other shit. Since I'm not comfortable doing that (neither is my mom who was paying as my birthday gift) I got nothing.
Shows like Dynasty had influence on and broke the ground for the "golden era" TV shows you're enjoying now.
I agree with this article. As a kid I used to watch these shows with my mom. I revisted them as an adult, and Dynasty held up the best since it was so over-the-top.
He used to be on Days of Our Lives so he posted for all the soap mags. They always had the most awkward poses.
I've always liked Dunaway and felt sorry about her unsuccessful comeback bid too.
I have a crush on a soap opera character named Todd (it's his middle name, but he went by it) and whenever anyone says "Todd" I immediately think of him.
It does sound like the DJs are being assholes, but your anger is misplaced. It's not Aaron Paul's fault. These kinds of things are usually decided on by people at the network in publicity and such.
As a teenager I called in a radio station to win concert tickets and the DJ made fun of me for being too excited. It still pisses me off.
It was the subject of an article on this site: http://www.avclub.com/artic…
Back in the 90s, my brother downloaded a text file somewhere that listed every single reference in MST3K: The Movie in great detail. Sadly, neither of us has it anymore and my brother doesn't remember where he found it.
I liked how people were upset that a nipple was shown, but ignored the fact that the performance simulated sexual assault.
Not just videos, they pull stuff like that at the VMAs practically every year.
Are you female? I think women are more likely to do this, since we (I'm a woman) are conditioned to be "nice" from birth.
I recently read Chuck Klosterman's I Wear the Black Hat and the stuff about con artists was some of the most interesting stuff in the book. There was sadly little of it though.
Yes! I love that shot of Huston going down in the elevator. I know it's not the first movie to use that symbolism (hell, Angel Heart did it just a couple of years before), but it was so perfect in that particular instance.
